While I had imagined more structure to this project regarding what pages were discussed per episode, I find that I sometimes have to make significant changes and additions to pages we’ve discussed twice already. But that’s the nature of the creative process; sometimes revisions for sections have to be done over and over again immediately and can’t wait for a complete draft before revisiting. That’s fine; we’re still finding our way through this.
On the upside, I’m already at page 30! Not only is the speed remarkable, but so is the quality. So far, I’m feeling pretty solid about the action and dialog. If anything, I feel like I might be overwriting some parts since these last pages have felt more like writing a novel than a screenplay. We’ll see how it reads when we perform them this weekend.
I’m late with drawing a companion sketch, but something had to give this week, and it was better that I triage the nice-to-have (sketch) instead of the must-have (script). I’ll replace the placeholder later.
